Alternative Curriculum/ Specialized Instructional Support Program Evaluation and Recommendations for Special Populations Department
Challenge: The department was looking to evaluate its offering for alternative pathways for graduation for the alt. students. These are students with cognitive disabilities and usually require a personalized curriculum and support.
We needed to properly understand the current offerings and how it was meeting the needs of families and different schools. I wrote the survey and discussion guide with the product team. I moderated teacher listening sessions and created surveys to learn about the landscape.
Personas, journey maps, and a service blueprint were created to map out what the needs were based on what the team learned from the surveys and listening sessions.
Result: Once we learned the family and teachers’ needs, we were able to properly review products and pitch services to address what was missing.
Tools Used: Figma, Microsoft Office 365, Zoom
